Dear friends,
For many years now, I’ve come to realise that I am not the mother I hoped I would be.
I fall so very short of my own ideal on a daily basis.
One of the ways I fall short is in my struggle with gentleness.
I had this almost ethereal vision of what I might be like as a mother: serene and calm, with a gentle and joyful answer always on my lips.
Sadly, that has not been my reality.
As a mother of five, including twins, with all the demands and stimulation that come with raising a full house, I can be irritable and snappy far more frequently than I wish to admit.
And so, for the next 30 days, I’m going to intentionally seek the Lord in this area, through His Word, prayer, and the wisdom of others, and ask:
Can I become a gentler mum?
The answer is… not in my own strength, but God at work in me. Only He can bring lasting change.
So I’d love for you to join me here each week as I share reflections on all that He’s teaching me through the journey - from encouraging scripture, reflections, and yes, my wins and my failures too.
For now, I’ll leave you with this beautiful scripture poster for you to adorn your walls.

Would you join me in memorising its truth this week?
Here’s to the next 30 days.
